Guest speaker will be Mr. Joseph Hawk.  Mr. Hawk is a Civil Engineer with twenty-five years of experience in the planning, management, execution, and control of a wide variety of engineering, construction, and demolition projects.  He is a native of Pennsylvania where he received his Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from Lafayette College in 1983.  He relocated to Knoxville, Tennessee in 1986 to support TVA's nuclear restart program and earned a Master of Science degree in Civil Engineering from The University of Tennessee, Knoxville in 1992.  Mr. Hawk has been a member of the ES&amp;H, Inc. Team since January 2006 and currently serves as their engineering group manager.

A total of 31 votes were tallied, which represented over 24% of our 127-member section.  The individuals taking office on June&amp;nbsp;1 will be assuming the responsibility for continuing to make the Section a valuable resource to its members and to the Cost Engineering community at large.

<title>Certification testing in the Knoxville area</title>

<description>Todd Corwin, ETS Director of Education, tells us that the East Tennessee Section is one of the hosts for the AACEI Certification Exams to be held on June 14, 2008.  The deadline for early registration is Monday, May 5th.  Details for the test location in Oak Ridge, TN will be provided to the applicants by email.

Exams include Certified Cost Engineer/Consultant, Earned Value Professional, Planning and Scheduling Professional, and Certified Forensic Claims Consultant Engineer.

<title>Joint AACEI/PMI meeting</title>

<description>The annual joint meeting with the local chapter of PMI will be on Tuesday, April 22.  It will be a luncheon from 11:30-1:00 at the Doubletree Hotel in Oak Ridge.

The Section will be subsidizing the cost of the luncheon to it's members, so the cost to attendees will only be $15. We have to guarantee the headcount to the hotel, so everyone RSVPing is expected to pay, even if they miss the meeting.
